Hot Work Permit Tags
Hot work permit tags are essential safety and compliance tools for any facility where welding, cutting, grinding, soldering, or other spark-producing operations take place. These tags not only help organizations meet OSHA requirements but also serve as critical communication devices that alert personnel to potential fire hazards and necessary precautions. When properly implemented, they create a systematic approach to managing hot work operations and maintaining workplace safety.
Our custom hot work permit tags can be tailored to include specific safety protocols, emergency contact information, required PPE, fire watch procedures, and inspection checklists. Available in durable materials like Tyvek® and vinyl, these tags stand up to industrial environments while remaining easy to write on and clearly visible. Options include multi-part tear-off sections for record keeping, metal eyelets for secure attachment, pre-attached wire or string, and sequential numbering for tracking.

In addition to the 21 standard colors we offer for our tags, we can create virtually any color by flood coating our white tags. We also offer full-color process printing for creating eye-catching designs with fine details.
Tags are typically punched with either 3/16” or 3/8” holes and can be reinforced with fiber patches and/or metal eyelets for securely attaching tags to items.
We offer several standard string materials, including elastic, mercerized cotton, cotton/poly blend, polished cotton twine and a natural option that is similar to jute. These can either be knotted or looped. For more industrial applications, we offer several different types and gauges of metal wire options.
